Description
The SM7 Helmet is engineered specifically for off-road racing, optimized to deliver a perfect blend of superior ventilation and comfort in a lightweight package. Its supremely aerodynamic composite shell is designed with a smooth, streamlined profile, free of external channels that might act as load points during an impact. The shell's curvature promotes reduced friction, allowing for efficient energy deflection to protect the rider's head, neck, and spinal column.
Key Features
- Extreme Ventilation: An ultra-ventilated design featuring 20 individual ports—13 intakes and 7 exhausts—ensures maximum airflow for optimum cooling during intense rides.
- Customizable Fit: Features the A-Head Fitment system with a height-adjustable top pad. The 3D foam cheek pads are interchangeable across all shell sizes, allowing for a fully tailored fit.
- Communication Ready: Includes a dedicated cutaway section in the EPS to seamlessly accommodate intercom systems, featuring earphone recesses for speakers.
- Hydration Integrated: Built-in channels on both sides of the helmet allow for the easy installation of a hydration tube.
Advanced Construction
The interior of the SM7 is designed for longevity and hygiene. All linings are removable, washable, and treated with antimicrobial properties. The crown pad and neck pad are elastically connected to improve oblique impact management, while the chin strap features a 25 mm nylon strap with stainless steel DD rings and removable covers for easy cleaning.
Superior Protection
- PLASMA Technology: Alpinestars PLASMA technology is strategically integrated into the side pads and lower shell edge. This system provides high-performance shock absorption and energy dissipation, specifically designed to reduce the risk of injury to the collarbone area.
- Visor Detaching System: The visor is engineered with a unique release mechanism that automatically detaches when subjected to impact energy greater than 15 Joules, regardless of the impact direction.
- Emergency Release System (ERS): The cheek pads feature an emergency extraction system to assist in safe helmet removal if necessary.
