Engineered for off-road racing, the SM7 helmet combines a lightweight, multi-layer shell constructed from fiberglass, carbon, and aramid fiber for an optimum blend of impact protection, force dissipation, sliding performance, energy absorption, stability, and durability. Its supremely aerodynamic composite shell delivers exceptional impact protection, while A-Head Fitment and the Visor Detaching System enhance comfort and safety. PLASMA technology is integrated into the lower side of the shell edge for optimum energy dissipation in case of contact with the collar bone area.

Key Features
Aerodynamic profile design creates a smooth, streamlined shell without external channels or features that could act as load points during an impact or compromise helmet integrity. The shell curvature promotes reduced friction on impact, allowing deflection and efficient energy transfer to help protect the rider’s head from direct force and force referred to the neck and spinal column. Ultra-ventilated design features 20 individual intake and exhaust ports, not including the eye port, with 13 intakes and 7 exhausts for optimum airflow. Fit can be customized with Alpinestars replacement cheek pads, available in all thicknesses and interchangeable among all shell sizes.

Communication System Compatible — A cutaway section on the left side of the EPS accommodates intercom systems, with earphone recesses on both sides for speakers.

Construction
Linings are removable and washable by hand using warm water and neutral soap. Fabrics feature antimicrobial treatments. The crown pad and neck pad are elastically connected for improved oblique impact management. The top pad is removable and height-adjustable through the A-Head system. 3D foam cheek pads include an emergency extraction system (ERS) and a channel for hydration tube installation. Cheek pads are interchangeable among all sizes. The chin strap features a 25 mm nylon strap, stainless steel DD rings, and removable covers for washing. Integrated channels on both sides accommodate a hydration system.

Protection
The Visor Detaching System uses a release mechanism designed to avoid weaknesses found in other anchoring systems. The visor is engineered to automatically detach from the shell when subjected to impact energy greater than 15 Joules, regardless of direction, for optimum impact protection. Alpinestars PLASMA technology is strategically integrated into the SM7’s side pads for high-performance shock absorption in a critical area, significantly reducing the risk of injuries.
